As the hunt continues for a 'swamiji', the missing link in the conspiracy behind the murder of BSP leader-cum-billionaire real estate tycoon Deepak Bhardwaj, investigators on Saturday claimed that they are also looking for a sadhvi.
Police said the sadhvi, who is on the run, is one of the
godman's three alleged girlfriends whom he has been frequently contacting from different PCOs.
Investigators suspect that the sadhvi might be part of the entire conspiracy and her interrogation could lead them to the 'godman', who have changed 10 mobile numbers between November and March.
He has been frequently changing his locations and is only contacting his close associates.
Apart from the two, four more people will be arrested in the case, said an investigating officer.
The police are yet to establish the identity of the 'mastermind' and they believe that the arrest and interrogation of the godman or the sadhvi might help them solve the murder mystery.
A senior police officer said they had not given clean chit to Bhardwaj's family members and as many as 20 teams were working on the case.
Over 200 people, including several disciples of the swamiji, had been questioned.
Meanwhile, interrogation of the arrested persons revealed that on the day of the incident, Rakesh, the arrested owner of the Skoda car, was asked to keep his phone at home and reached Charkhi Dadri with his Santro car.
The perpetrators of the crime exchanged the Skoda with a Santro and left for their destinations while Rakesh returned home with the Skoda.
"Purushottam Rana and Sunil Maan have revealed that they wanted to include some more associates to execute Bhardwaj's murder plot. However, their associated refused after which they decided to execute the plot themselves along with Amit," said the senior officer adding Sunil had a haircut before the murder.
The accused did not know about the presence of CCTV camera at the entrance of Bhardwaj's farmhouse.
