GMADA had already constituted teams that will be monitoring that no water is wasted in the town in order to ensure that there is no shortage in summers in the wake of increased demand. As per the new decision, there is a complete ban on watering of lawns in morning and evening. GMADA has also banned washing of vehicles, verandas, besides forbidding the use of booster pumps on the main pipeline.
Teams would be taking rounds in Sectors 66, 67, 68, 69, 78, 79, 80 and bulk market in Sector 65. GMADA has also decided to impose a penalty of Rs. 500 on the repeat offenders and the same would also be blacklisted.
The ban would be restricted only to the new sectors being governed by GMADA. In other areas, the water supply is responsibility of the water supply department, which claimed that they are monitoring the pressure of water supply from the Kajuali water works and in case the pressure dips only then corrective measures would be taken.
