A unique poetry show where published, established poets will share stage with upcoming, online poets will be held at Punjabi Bhawan on Friday.
Over 100 poets who write poetry in Punjabi from the region and Delhi, and even from abroad will participate in the event organised by Shabad Lok
with the assistance by Punjab Sahit Academy.
Jaswant Zafar General secretary of Shabad Lok informed that screen shows and open poetry sessions would be the highlights of the fair while a special programme on traditional and classical Punjabi poetry singing would be the centre of attraction.
“The fair would be inaugurated by Punjab minister of cultural affairs Swaran Singh Phillaur while Padam Shree Dr Surjeet Patar will preside over the inaugural function. Dr Jagjit Singh will deliver the main lecture,” said Zafar.
President of Punjabi Sahit Academy Dr Gurbhajan Singh Gill said young poets, who have recently took to poetry and visited Punjabi Bhawan for the first time, will be honoured and recognised.
The programme will also be telecasted live on various radio channels. Sant Satnam Singh Kishanpura will perform live on stage in classical singing.
Parminder Sodhi, Dr Mohanjeet, Dr Kulbir, Dr Jagbir, Dr Ramesh Kumar, Dr Pal Kaur, Dr Narinderpal Singh, Dr Parminderjeet, Dr Amrish, Dr Gurtej Kuharawala, Dr Anil Adam, Vijay Vivek, Dr Gurdev Chauhan, Dr Sarabjeet Singh, Dr Sukhdev Singh, Dr Gurminder Sidhu, Dr Yograj, Labh Singh Khiva, Jaipal, Anoop Singh, Ravinder, Gurpreet, Mahandev Lippi, Balwinder Garewal, Harpal Bhatti, Simranjot Mann, Jagwinder Jodha, Tarsem, Sewa Singh Bhasho, Balwinder Sandhu, Surjeet Singh, Tarsem and Surinder Bhathal are among the poets who will be participating in the fair.
