Punjab Colonisers and Property Dealers' Association has demanded the state government to implement a policy that has been proposed to streamline the regularisation of unauthorised colonies in the state.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, association president Kultar Singh Jogi said the state government should involve the representatives of colonisers and property dealers to finalise the policy so that their concerns could be accommodated in the new policy.

He said under the new policy, a facility for single-window clearance of applications to speed up the process.

Commenting on the proposal to levy development charges on colonies, he said that instead of levying such charges, the government should charge the same from the person on whose name the title deed of the property has been prepared. He also said that instead of levying the development charges should be restricted to newly carved colonies, which are not more than three years old.
