The hunger strike at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) entered into its fourth day on Thursday.
The students of NIPER are on an indefinite hunger strike due to inaction on part of the board of governors of the institute. Nine students, including two female students, had been admitted to the hospital due to extreme exhaustion and dizziness. The students of NIPER continued to protest at the main gate of the institute.

On Thursday, ABVP held a press conference to support the students of NIPER.

Ashish Chauhan, a representative of the ABVP, said they would help the students of NIPER and would talk about the matter with the state as well the central government.

He added that they have already approached the union ministry of chemicals and fertilisers regarding the demands of the students.
