Passengers also lodged a complaint with airport authorities, DGCA and Sarojini Nagar police station under various sections.
The flight, which takes off from Delhi at 5.30am and lands at the Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport at 6.15am, had some technical problems in its cooling system.
The air-conditioners were not working properly. Passengers had pointed out the problems before take-off but the staff promised the plane will cool down once it takes off and the air-conditioners are switched on.
However, contrary to the assurance of the staff, the cooling system never worked during the entire journey. Older passengers and children suffered most. “An elderly passenger nearly fainted mid-air due to the intense heat and poor oxygen availability,’ said one person who had been on board the flight.
“Passengers have the right to demand return of charges if the airlines don’t provide us with services they promised. The passenger started demanding their money back, but Jet staff misbehaved with us,” said another passenger.
The airlines staff had much difficulty dealing with a eunuch passenger. He was taken away out of the airport building by security staff after several requests.
Jet officials refused to comment over the issue.
