Confident of retaining power in Rajasthan, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said there was no place for criminals in the party. He said the ticket distribution process would begin soon in the state.

Gandhi blamed the party leaders for being divided and widening the gap between themselves and the workers. Gandhi held meetings with the workers from 39 districts in Bikaner and Jaipur and said the interaction was good. The meeting, was however, overshadowed by complaints and recriminations with workers blaming the leaders for the mess in the party. Workers also complained about senior leaders like MP Sachin Pilot, state incharge Mukul Wasnik and state ministers.

The party workers from block and district level openly criticised the leaders and blamed them for indifferent attitude and non-participation in organisational meetings. Sources claimed that workers also complained Gandhi about over powering of bureaucracy in Rajasthan.

Regarding the BJPs allegation of CBI’s misuse, Gandhi said the agency has taken action against Congress people also.

He praised chief minister Ashok Gehlot for his good work and said welfare schemes like free medicine and pension are being appreciated.

He said it was unfortunate that the opposition had stalled the Right to Food Bill in Parliament.
