Electronica fest in Mumbai
Five international DJs will perform at a one-day music festival to be held later this month
Although the season of music festivals is yet to begin, enthusiasts can look forward to an electronic dance music (EDM) fest in the city. The one-day event, titled Partido (Spanish for political party) will be held on on May 31.
It will feature many international DJs. These include Dutch DJs, Richard Durand — who is the headlining act — and Allure, Russia-based Bobina and UK’s Paul Thomas. Swiss DJ, Daniel Portman, will perform for crowds at the after party.
While Durand and Thomas have played in India before, this fest will mark the debut performances of Bobina and Allure. The six-hour long festival will start at 4 pm at Juhu’s Tulip Star hotel. Says Ketki Joshi, managing director of the festival, “Each jockey will be slotted an hour to play for the crowd. We are expecting an audience of more than 10,000 people.” The gigs will be held in two segments. The first session, lasting six-hours will have performances by five DJs. Post this performance, the private after party will be also held till the early hours. Tarang and Ramona Arena will be compering the festival.
"The atmosphere at the festival will be mind-blowing, intensely enhanced by the amazing quality of the stage, sound and lighting production. It will be a new experience for Mumbaikars,” Says Aarnavv Shirsat, CMD, 3rd Rock Entertainment, which is one of the organisers of the music festival.
