Would you like to share some of the initiatives taken at your end?I have directed all the SHOs to identify poorly-lit roads and lanes in their respective jurisdictions. These stretches become more crime-prone at night, giving ample room and comfort to criminals to target vulnerable citizens and get away easily.
How are you going to utilise these insights? After assimilating information on the dark stretches, we are going to write to the departments concerned such as HUDA and MCG and request them to get the streetlights installed or fix the faulty ones falling in their respective jurisdiction.
More than 400 people died in road accidents last year. Any plans to check fatal accident deaths? In addition to having a full-time DCP dedicated for the traffic department, we have many other plans. We have a serious problem with people putting up speed-breakers, violating the guidelines laid down by the Indian Roads Congress. There are also some traffic signal related issues where there is a need to rope in the agencies concerned.
Women in Gurgaon feel unsafe, especially after sundown. Any initiatives on the women security front? We will soon tie up with an NGO and launch a campaign under which we will offer crash courses on various self-defence techniques. For this, we will depute ACP Pankhuri as the nodal officer for coordination on this campaign.

We have now decided to set up a dedicated wing of this cell for cyber crime cases only.
