Five friends talk it out on radio
If you are tired of watching all the saas-bahu soaps on television and are craving for something more contemporary and youth-centric, then your search may have an answer now. With a first-of-its-kind initiative, Fever 104 FM presents Friends In A Metro — a radio drama which kicks off from 8am today.
“The serial is a radio innovation and is aimed at offering a different product to our listeners. Earlier, the radio dramas were based on subjects that were either from mythology or history. But with this series, we have entered a new genre, keeping up with the modern times,” says Harshad Jain, business head — Radio and Entertainment.
The plot revolves around five characters, who come to Mumbai from different cities in order to fulfill their aspirations. Anshuman Oberoi is a rich spoilt brat from Delhi who loves to show off while Sweety Srivastava is a theatre artist from Lucknow and aspires to become an actor. Arjuna Shivaraman is an IT graduate from Bengaluru, and Babla Ghosh is a gifted musical talent from Bengal. Lastly, Dhokle Patil is a Marathi boy who is also referred to as ‘IBCD’ — Indian Born Confused Desi.
During their stay in a metro, they all face hardships in life but what helps them sail through all the odds is their friendship. The show, to be aired on weekdays, focuses on the beauty of this unique bond these five friends share.
