£250 mn: Amount Brits will spend on Kate-Will baby
Analysts have estimated that the royal baby fever around Prince William’s first-born could boost the British economy by as much as £240 million.
The baby, due mid-July, will be third in
line to the throne after Prince Charles and Prince William and is the latest in a run of royal and sporting events such as the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in the UK.
“This is a good news story and there really is no downside. With the birth coming in July, people will have time to get involved, and that means additional spending,” Joshua Bamfield, director of the Centre for Retail Research (CRR), said in reference to a new report forecasting the retail scenario for the country in the coming months.
Kim ‘never wants to get pregnant again’
London: New mom Kim Kardashian has admitted that she doesn’t want to go through another pregnancy, in the latest episode of her reality TV show — ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashian’.
The 32-year-old reality star, who gave birth to a healthy baby girl in a luxury hospital suite on the weekend, told her mum Kris Jenner that it was a really painful flight and she could hardly walk, the Mirror reported.
In the Sunday’s episode, Kim is seen weeping in pain as she’s jetted into Los Angeles with fears she had appendicitis.
Colombian Poet wants to sell testicles for $20K New York
New York: A Colombian poet is selling his testicles to pay for his upcoming European tour.
Rafael Medina Brochero, 52, wants 20,000 dollars for his private parts so he can travel the continent with his “Poetry for Peace in Colombia” show.
Speaking to Caracol Radio, the Magdalena author, who’s had 11 books published, said he would hand over his balls to the first person that offered him the cash, The New York Daily News reported.
Now, four-legged robot that runs like cats
Washington: A robot modeled upon a cat shares the advantages of its biological model- it is small, light and runs very fast. The “cheetah-cub robot,” a small-size quadruped prototype robot is developed by EPFL’s Biorobotics Laboratory (Biorob).
The purpose of the platform is to encourage research in biomechanics; its particularity is the design of its legs, which make it very fast and stable. Robots developed from this concept could eventually be used in search and rescue missions or for exploration.
