With roads breached and blocked at several places in Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts, people are trying to reach the national highway by just walking the distance.
The scene at the national highway is emotional. There is relief for some, while the rest are anxious as they will have to go back to the places where disaster struck to look for their untraceable friends and relatives.
Sirobagar, lying between Dharidevi and Rudraprayag on the national highway, falls in the landslide zone and is open for only light vehicles.
A bypass had been created but this narrow road is not good enough to cope with the heavy traffic forced on it.
