Minutes after electricity connection at his home was cut for overdue bills, Aam Aadmi Party’s Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday reconnected his power supply. Power officials handed a notice before cutting the connection at Kejriwal’s Kaushambi home and later claimed that the department itself resumed supply a few hours afterwards.

“…I have connected it back as we are doing with everyone else. Am ready to face the consequences,” Kejriwal tweeted.

As part of the civil disobedience movement in March, AAP  — which has announced its plans to fight the November Delhi assembly polls — had asked Delhiites not to pay power and water bills, allegedly “inflated due to corruption”.

Power department officials said Kejriwal’s dues were low.
