“We will remain in the areas till the situation becomes normal,” said Dr Harish, RSS prant pracharak, Uttarakhand.
Other charitable bodies have followed suit.
Nearly 200 volunteers of the Sant Nirankari Charitable Trust are active in villages of the Kedarnath valley. And the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, which manages the gurdwaras of the Punjab-Himachal Pradesh region, has also been quick to be in action.
It has pressed into service ambulances in the affected areas, besides sending food to the Hemkunt valley.

“We plan to visit again,” said Shray Sharma of Kaash.
