With the recovery of two more bodies, the death toll in the collapse of a hotel building at Secunderabad has gone up to 15 while 12 others are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.

Two more bodies have been retrieved since Monday night from the debris of the collapsed City Light Hotel and Bakery on Rashtrapati Road, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner M T Krishna Babu said.

One person is said to be trapped under the debris and efforts were on to extricate him, he said.

Rescuers scrambled on Tuesday to extricate two to three people who are still feared to be trapped under the rubble of a hotel in Secunderabad that collapsed on Monday.

Rescue teams from National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sifted through the debris looking for survivors.

Officials of GGHMC said the experts were moving cautiously while clearing debris to prevent any harm to those who may be trapped.

The rescue workers pulled out 23 people from the rubble. The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital, where the condition of some of them is stated to be critical.

"The injured were shifted to state-run Gandhi Hospital, where five among them were discharged while doctors performed surgeries on four others," officials had said.

Police have booked hotel owner Hasan Boluki for negligence. Hasan's son Mustafa Boluki died in the mishap.

Hasan, who was relieved by his son a few minutes before the mishap, suffered cardiac arrest upon hearing about his death. He was earlier believed to have been injured.
