On the occasion Ashadhi Ekadashi, a day of worshipping Lord Pandurang, versatile Indian classical vocalists Padmaja Phenany Joglekar and Ajitkumar Kadkade will be presenting various abhangs (devotional songs) at a concert in the city. Titled Aashadhi… Wari Sangeetachi, the concert will be the second get-together of the two artistes. The evening will commence with a recital by Joglekar, who is known for singing thumris, dadras, bhajans, abhangs and ghazals with equal ease. Following her performance will be Kadkade, whose forte is bhakti geet (spiritual songs) and abhangs. He will conclude the recital with his classical and devotional renditions.

“I am really happy that I will be sharing the stage with Padmaja ji. She is one of the best vocalists I know. It’s the second time I am performing with her,” says Kadkade, adding, “I will be presenting abhangs mostly on Vitthal.”

The concert will be held on July 18, at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, from 8 pm onwards.
