The Chandigarh Transport Union (CTU) Workers' Union submitted a memorandum to the UT adviser regarding their genuine and long-pending demands. The union leaders said the administration and the CTU management have failed to purchase new buses despite money being allocated last year.

The union alleged that senior officers of the administration and officers of CTU were at loggerheads on account of purchase of buses and their personal ego was resulting in financial loss and harassment of the general public.

The union also raised the issue of failure on part of CTU management to fill the vacant posts of workshop staff despite getting approval from the administration. The union also talked about employees working with the CTU, who have no house either in Chandigarh or periphery.
