Terming Bihar tragedy an eye opener, she claimed that she would tour the state to personally check the mid-day meal being served in schools, adding that separate staff had been provided to prepare the food.
Later talking to mediapersons, Bhukkal said 25,000 new teachers would be recruited in the state and eventually the student-teacher ratio of 30:1 would be achieved.
She said to improve the quality of education a national-level Teachers' Training Institute (TTI) was being established in Jind district and all BEd colleges in the state would be affiliated with it.
She said the government had informed the high court that guest teachers would continue to work till new recruitment was finalised.
Bhukkal said to regulate private schools in the state, a "Private Schools Regulation Act' was being enacted, adding that a special cadre of teachers was being prepared to provide English medium education in some selected government schools also.
District education officer (DEO) Paramjit Sharma and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan coordinator Usha Sharma were also present.
