After getting many offers for TV, over the years, Ruslaan Mumtaz is now finally making his small screen debut. The actor who was seen in films like MP3 – Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar (2007) and I Don’t Luv U among others, will play the lead in Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara opposite Sangeeta Ghosh.

Ruslaan had been getting offers for such shows for over two years now. “Every time it happened, I would turn it down at the last minute. But this show is different. Sangeeta is a huge star; she is one of the reasons I took up the show.” The actor further clarifies, “I used to get cold feet about doing TV, but I am ready now.”

Buzz is that the show is a love story between a mature woman and a younger guy, with some bold streaks. Ask Ruslaan about this and he says, “I don’t think there will be any bold content as such. It’s a love story so it will be treated sensitively.” Ready to slog it out in thecut-throat TV industry, Ruslaan adds, “My mother told me I might not have a personal life anymore.”

In his six-year career, Ruslaan has done only five films which also prodded him to switch to TV “I realised just doing one film a year isn’t a good career move. There is a larger audience out there, whom I have to reach out to.”
