According to the meteorological department, the district received 153 mm rainfall on Saturday, bringing the total precipitation in the district to 764 mm.
With two and a half months to go for the end of the season (June 1 to September 30), the district has already surpassed the average monsoon rainfall, estimated at 600 to 700 mm. The district records total annual rainfall of about 1,000 mm.
According to a report released by the district administration, the district has suffered a loss of Rs. 73 crore due to heavy rain between June 15 and 30.
