Residents of east Delhi will once again face power cuts on Tuesday and Wednesday as the power distribution company will remove electricity towers installed on the Akshardham-Noida road. According to BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL), areas that may be affected include housing societies and commercial complexes along the Akashardham-Noida road, particularly in Mayur Vihar I.

"There is a proposal to set-up 'Delhi-Haat' in east Delhi near the Akashardham-Noida road Delhi. The scope of the project requires BYPL to remove the electricity towers installed on the Akashardham-Noida road. The company has started the process of dismantling and removing the electricity towers installed on the road. In place of these towers, BYPL has already laid underground electricity cables," said a spokesperson.

According to officials, the towers will be dismantled and removed on Tuesday and Wednesday between 10 am and 5 pm. "For the task, BYPL will have to initiate a planned shutdown in the area. Though we have back-fed the area, there is still a possibility that the power supply to the housing societies and commercial complexes along the Akashardham-Noida road, particularly in Mayur Vihar I, may be affected," added the official.

The 'East Delhi Haat' will be supplied electricity from the BYPL' Vasundhara Enclave Grid.
