“We are considering launching the vehicle in India early next year,” said Jnaneswar Sen, senior Vice President sales and marketing, Honda Cars India. “India could be the second market after Indonesia to get this car. It will be offered both in petrol and diesel.”
Priced at R6.52-8.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), Ertiga was Maruti’s first MUV and fifth best selling car in India in 2012-13.
Honda’s MPV however is likely to be more expensive. The company has been on a high, ducking the industry trend of slowdown with a 45% sales increase so far this year. Amaze sold over 18,000 units of the 30,000-unit total sales.
