As the assembly elections draw near, the BJP is pulling out all stops to ensure its success.

With Nitin Gadkari heading the party's election battle in Delhi this year, the BJP plans to use its councillors to highlight the Congress's failures at the municipal level. From power tariff, to price rise to safety of women, the party will discuss important issues in a meeting to be chaired by Gadkari on Wednesday morning. The meeting will also discuss the party's preparations for a rally to be held on August 11.

A separate meeting will be held later in the day with east Delhi councillors to discuss the election agenda.

"Two separate meetings will be held tomorrow. One meeting is scheduled for 8 am for which we have requested Mr Gadkari to address the gathering. He will meet the east Delhi councillors separately," said Vijay Goel, president, Delhi BJP.

Apart from the councillors, general secretaries and district presidents will attend the meeting.

"The meeting will discuss various issues that need to be highlighted in the rally. All councillors will give their opinion on what all needs to be done for the upcoming assembly elections," said Mahender Nagpal, leader of the house, North Corporation.

Recently, Gadkari held a meeting with Delhi MLAs and had discussed the party's strategy for the assembly elections to be held in November.

"The discussion was primarily aimed at assessing the party's preparations," said a source.
