The health authorities have begun extensive screening of the residents after jaundice cases were reported from here.
Senior medical officer Dr Pushkar Kumar said that medical teams have conducting door to door surveys in Mohalla Jalotian and Kapainan and have so far covered over 400 houses.

He said chlorine tablets and oral rehydration solution packets were distributed among the residents.

Four cases of jaundice were reported on Wednesday while more than 20 cases of jaundice were  detected during the last three days. Water contamination is believed to be the reason behind the outbreak of the disease.

SMo said that we have asked NC officials to check water and drainage lines adding that residents have been advised not to use Tulu pumps.
