Performing at a prestigious venue is an honour that’s hard to come by for amateur theatre groups. However, a bunch of college students are about to fulfil that dream today (August 6), as they will perform at Prithvi Theatre.
The winners and runners-up of the drama competition at Mood Indigo (in December 2012) will put up their plays at the Juhu theatre today. Students of Khalsa College, New Delhi, will enact Park, their one-act play that won the competition. That will be followed by the runners-up from IIT Bombay, who will stage their play, Just Do It.

I’ll be one of the few stars of the institute who have made it to Prithvi. I can’t be more excited,” says Badri Chavan, one of the actors of Just Do It.

Besides one-act plays, winning pieces from the street play competition, Aagaaz, will also be staged at the venue. The acts include Yeh Gandi Baat Hai by students of PGDAV College, New Delhi, and Ab Toh Aadat Si Hai by the students of College of Engineering, Pune.

“It’s great that the participants realise that Prithvi is a venue that artistes die to perform at. The stage has a rich legacy of extremely talented performers and Bollywood actors. This encourages the winners to come all the way to Mumbai from various cities”, says Parth Loya, team Mood I.
