11 crore from paid previews, defeats Chennai Express
Bollywood seems to be in a festive mood.
Even as last week release Chennai Express continues to earn huge at the ticket windows, Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Imran Khan-starrer Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara has opened to approximately 85-90% occupancy.
The Milan Luthria's directorial venture was released at around 2500 screens registering a record collection from paid previews at
11 crore, Taran Adarsh and Komal Natha said. Balaji Motion Pictures, however, claims the paid previews collections stood at
Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Chennai Express earned
6.75 crore from paid previews beating the paid preview collections of 3 Idiots (Rs 2.75 crore). Interestingly, Chennai Express was screened in 3500 theatres while OUATIMD was released in around 2500 theatres.
Will the film sustain interest of the public? That remains to be seen.
