Additional district and sessions RK Yadav on Saturday awarded a 30-month jail term to a Sangrur woman held guilty of possessing 10-kg poppy husk on Friday. Chindi's accomplice Kala Singh had fled after his conviction in the same case on Friday. Kala Singh and Chindi, who goes by her first name, were arrested on September 30, 2011, after police seized 10-kg poppy husk from them.

Kala, who hails from Ludhiana, was present in court on Friday and managed to leave its premises after listening to the orders holding him guilty. Kala's escape came to light when the police wanted to arrest him following the order of conviction by the court. He is yet to be arrested.
