The municipal corporation (MC) here continued with its drive against stray cattle on Saturday, catching 109 of the bovines from various parts of the city. The MC’s drive began much before daybreak at 4 am and was carried out by two teams. The first team, led by MC additional commissioner Sunil Bhatia, caught 27 stray cattle heads from Dadumajra, Nehru Colony, Dhanas and areas adjoining Kajheri.

The second team, under the supervision of MC joint commissioner Rajiv Kumar Gupta, caught 82 stray cattle heads from Mauli Jagran, Manimajra and areas neighbouring Bapu Dham. The civic body pressed into service 14 of its vehicles for the drive.

In all, 140 MC workers and 100 police personnel participated in the drive. With its efforts made on Saturday, the MC has caught 255 stray cattle in two days. In its drive carried out on Friday, the civic body had caught 146 stray cattle heads.
