About 50 residents including women of Mohalla Rehmanpura on Tuesday staged a protest opposite of nagar council office condemning the poor civic amenities in the area. In a memorandum of demands the locals alleged that they are being supplied contaminated water for the past one week.

Addressing the protest rally Bahujan Samaj Party leader Sukhminder Gadwal said they have lodged complaints with nagar council officials but it did not resolve the issue. He expressed anticipation of outbreak of serious ailments if no action is taken to ensure safe water supply. Nakodar naib tehsildar Nirjit Singh reached the spot and received the memorandum addressed to SDM.
