In a fresh crackdown on bars serving hookah, a team of the Haryana Food and Drug Administration (HFDA) raided an outlet in Sector 14 on Tuesday and arrested 25 persons, including six women.

The sleuths also seized four hookahs and 15 boxes of nicotine from Kasbah Hookah Lounge and Snooker.

The bar manager, Prakash Chand Verma, was also arrested on the spot by the Gurgaon police team led by ACP (City) Narender Kadiyan.

The raiding team comprised of assistant state drug controller Narender Ahuja, Gurgaon drugs control officer Pooja Chaudhary and her Rewari counterpart Amandeep Chauhan.

The department has registered an FIR against the owner of the bar.

Although the administration had imposed a blanket ban on sell of hookah last year, many bar owners in Gurgaon continue to serve the banned product to their customers. Tobacco served in hookahs contains high amount of nicotine.
