An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police allegedly shot at a doctor at the Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College and Hospital, Karnal early on Wednesday. The accused police official, Kashmira Singh, was allegedly in an inebriated condition. Hindustan Times has a video recording captured in the hospital CCTV that clearly shows Singh opening fire from his service pistol at Dr Nipun Kalra. Kalra, however, escaped unhurt.
7 killed in Vadodara buildings collapse, many trapped
At least seven persons were killed and many feared trapped when two three-storey buildings collapsed in Madhavnagar locality in Vadodara district in Gujarat in the wee hours on Wednesday. The incident occurred behind Atlandara area around 4.30am when the buildings came crashing down, catching the sleeping occupants unawares, HJ Tapariya, chief fire brigade officer of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation said. About 14 families were staying in the building.
Om Puri said no one will touch me: wife
Nandita Puri, the wife of actor Om Puri, who has been charged with domestic violence, has alleged that her husband harassed her in front of their son. “Om first verbally abused me and then began to hit me. My son (Ishaan), who was with his tuition teacher (at that time), came out and intervened. Seeing them, Om left, not before telling me, ‘I’m a celeb. Do what you want to do. No one will touch me.’ At 10:30 pm, I went to the police station (in Mumbai) to file an FIR,” she tells us.
Danish football fans caught having sex on the pitch
The hunt was on Tuesday for a couple of amorous Danish fans pictured having sex on the football pitch where their team had just played out a tedious 0-0 draw. A photograph of the daring pair, who remain unidentified, has gone viral on the internet. The two fans were spotted under floodlights in the pitch's centre circle by security staff at Broendby's Copenhagen ground, following a scoreless match against rival Randers on Sunday.
