An officer said this was a vital clue, as the DNA match will help nail all five men.
The officer said that in most gang-rape cases, DNA of a few accused don’t match. “Then we have to find separate evidence against them. This usually results in the case getting weak and the culprits walking free. But in this case, we have all five matches,” he said.
Roy said that while they did not have evidence such as the mobile tower location to prove their presence at Shakti Mill compound, the test report will go a long way in proving their crime. “We also have eyewitnesses, technical and other evidence to put forth a strong case against the accused,” he said.
Roy said they were still waiting for reports of the psychological profiling from the Ahmedabad Forensic Science Laboratory and Central Forensic Science Laboratory.
