Using social media as a tool, youths of Mansa had prepared a video song to highlight false promises that politicians have made regarding the development of the city. The video showing the city in a pitiable condition had got nearly 1,000 downloads besides numerous likes and shares in one week.

Besides criticising politicians, the youth had also targeted the mainstream media for not reporting and highlighting the problems being faced by locals.

The video shows pictures of pitiable condition of Mansa bus stand, railway under bridge, poor sewerage and sanitation, and bad state of roads. It has also focused on poor green cover and pitiable condition of government schools. They had also criticised increase in drug addiction among the youth of Punjab and Mansa district.

The video says, "Oh kalma de dhani han yaaro par awaaz buland nahi karde, hallaat mere shehar de vich akhbaran de nahi chappde." (They can write well but do not raise their voice and report the matter in newspapers).

Navneet Khudania, an advocate, has written the lyrics of the video song, while Ashu Sandal has sung it and Daler Gill has composed the music. All three are in their mid-twenties and belong to Mansa.
"Berozgari, anpadta, gareebi saade palle hai, Mansa zila sakhna hai vikas di lehar ton, hun ki bhaalde ho pacchde je shehar to. Saade kamm na neele aaye na chitte, mera gilla hai ohna naal, Saada gilla hai sarkaaran naal. (Unemployment, illiteracy and poverty had come in our share. None of the politicians helped us and this is our complaint to them)", the video further says.

Advocate Navneet Sharma, who had penned the lyrics, said, "We hadn't shown our pictures in the video as we don't want any publicity but only want to focus on the demands of Mansa residents, which have fallen on deaf years. Sorry, but it's true that the local media do not report anything against the ruling regime. So we planned to highlight the matter by using social media, including Whatsapp, Facebook and YouTube. Only in a week, we have got thousands of shares on Whatsapp and Facebook."
