Sniffer dogs have been pressed into service.
The former Minister's younger brother Khalid Malik told newsmen that the three dogs were recently imported from Germany costing Pakistani Rs. 3.6 million (approx Rs. 2.2 million).
He said the dogs were found dead at the former minister's Mag Town residence in Sialkot in Pakistan's Punjab province on Friday, adding they were poisoned by somebody.
Senior police officials said special teams were busy finding out any clue to the dogs' poisoning, adding that sniffer dogs would be used to resolve the case, the Dawn reported.
While cats are the main pets here, there are many dog lovers too.
Dogs are usually kept for guarding purposes.
