Two milk vendors were killed at Matheri village of Khatauli in Muzaffarnagar late Monday night and their dead bodies were dumped on roadside fields. A mob shot at two motorcycle-borne men in Meerapur area of Muzaffarnagar. One of them was declared brought dead to the hospital while the other is in critical condition. Two dead bodies were also found near Baghra and Titawai villages of Muzaffarnagar while one person was shot dead near Mansoorpur town of the district.Two dead bodies were reportedly also recovered from Jaula village and a canal near Kutab-Kutbi village.
Meanwhile, the army and paramilitary forces carried out a search operation in the violence-hit villages of Muzaffarnagar and Shamli districts, and recovered firearms and sharp-edged weapons.
Clashes between two communities were also reported from Baghpat and Shamli districts. Violence re-erupted in Shamli on Monday night after death of a person was reported. A teenager was strangulated to death in Doghat village of Baghpat district and at least six persons were injured when a mob attacked a group of the rival community in Soop village of the district.
There is no relaxation in curfew in the areas where it was imposed. The administration on Monday had said that any relaxation, if done, would happen only after 48 hours of watching the situation. The administration would be distributing essential commodities in the areas under curfew areas and would deploy ambulances with doctors and paramedics at 25 different spots to provide emergency medical services.Meanwhile, firing was also reported between two communities at Nandu Prasad, Rajowali, Ansarian and Dayanand Nagar areas - all urban pockets of Shamli. Arson was reported from Nandu Prasad area. Similarly, firing was reported from Makhiyala village on Bhopa road on the outskirts of Muzzafarnagar.
ADG (law and order) Arun Kumar, IG (law and order) Rajkumar Vishwakarma and many other senior officials are camping at Muzaffarnagar to monitor the situation.
A joint flag march was taken out in rural areas of Muzaffarnagar district and five columns of the army have been placed at different locations so that they can reach any troubled spots immediately.
