Now, dengue test results will be delivered to your mobile sets. If you opt for testing at Kolkata Municipal Corporation’s (KMC) path labs, health department officials would send the report to your mobile number. “Today (Wednesday), we launched an SMS service at our Haji dispensary under which the dengue test report will be sent to your mobile number on the same day you undergo the test. This facility would be available at all our five dengue detection centres at Hatibagan, Chetla, Haji, Lyalka chest clinic at Jadavpur and Behala Parnasree dispensaries,” Atin Ghosh, member, mayor-in-council (health), told reporters on Wednesday.

Besides sending the test report to the patient, messages alerting officials of the KMC, including the mayor, MMiC, chief municipal health officer (CMHO), will also be sent for immediate action.

“If you are suffering from the symptoms of the dengue virus, come to any of our clinics for blood testing and avail the facility. The facility of sending reports on your mobile is a unique step as no pathological lab offers this,” CMHO Tapan Kumar Mukherjee said.

“We have installed a software into our system, which would enable us to send you the result within a few hours of taking the test,” the MMiC added.

“If the test result is positive, our rapid action squad will swing into action to control the spread of the disease,” Mukherjee added.
