Teen pop star Miley Cyrus’ recent music video, Wrecking Ball, in which the 21-year-old is seen swinging on a ball stark naked and getting intimate with a hammer (that’s the most decent description we’ve arrived at), has left her fans shocked and raised questions on how much is too much to garner some quick publicity.

At the time of going to press, the Terry Richardson-directed video had raked in more than 17 million views. Meanwhile, Cyrus took to Twitter to acknowledge the new-gained popularity.

“We broke the record :) We hit 12.3 million on vevo :) keep watching #wreckingballonvevo thank you Smilers,” she wrote. And the singer doesn’t seem to be affected by all the criticism of the video. She tweeted, “We’ve hit 50 mil #wreckingballvideo? get it to 150 and ill release directors cut :) (sic).”

This raunchy video comes days after the Hannah Montana star was criticised for twerking at the recent Video Music Awards. Miley is unapologetic about that, too. “You’re thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it,” she said in a recent interview.
