The police have registered FIR against Qadir Rana as well as Noor Saleem on the charge of delivering hate speech at the gathering organised after Friday prayer. The police has video recording of the meeting in which both the leaders tried to incite the mob to attack the other community. Police officials said they are scanning the video and action against the leaders would be taken accordingly.
When asked if party would take action against Qadir and Noor Saleem for provoking people? Siddiqui replied that leaders of other parties were also present on the dais but police has taken no action against them yet. Rather the police have arrested general secretary of BSP Muzaffarnagar district unit Ram Niwas Pal. No action had been taken against the SP leaders, he said.
Blaming the SP government for the communal violence Maurya said communal tension was simmering in the district since August 27 but no action was taken against the culprits. Since SP government came to power UP is engulfed with communal tension. Law and order has collapsed. The state government was mute spectator to the anarchy spread across the state. The state government should take action against the senior police and administrative officers who failed to act.
The attempt to disturb communal harmony in the state started when the VHP planned to launch chaurasi kos yatra from Ayodhya. The district administration failed to nab the people involved in the distribution of CD. The common people should come forward to restore harmony and peace, Siddiqui said.
