The birthday of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, who was recently declared by the BJP as its prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 general elections, will be celebrated as Sadbhavna Diwas (Communal Harmony Day) on Tuesday.

Besides priests of various temples, and leaders of various communities, thousands of Muslims clad in their traditional attire, including skull caps, will be brought to state capital Gandhinagar to greet the CM.

What is expected to be a grand event was slammed by the Congress, which accused Modi for "splurging crores of rupees on organising a publicity stunt".
