The state secretariat of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has taken a strong objection to the Haryana government's step of setting up a state police recruitment board, in which many active Congressmen have been nominated.
Terming it unjustified in all respects, the CPM has demanded immediate dissolution of the recruitment board comprising active members of the ruling Congress party.

CPM leaders said the move would lead to politicisation of the police force if recruitments were allowed to be made through an agency of the ruling party.

The CPM stated that the present as well as the previous state governments had been appointing their chosen favourite persons as chairpersons and members of all important constitutional commissions and boards, thus defeating the very purpose of these bodies and making the recruitment and other functions a total farce.

The party reiterated that a definite, transparent and credible system be evolved to appoint chairpersons of commissions and vice-chancellors on the basis of merit only.
