Whittall, a former all-rounder, was shocked when he woke up on Tuesday morning to find an eight-foot crocodile under his bed. Whittall was perched on the edge of his bed, organising his day and unaware that the 150kg crocodile lay just centimetres away from his feet, The Daily Star reported.
The crocodile had entered the Humani Lodge and spent the entire night beneath Whittall’s bed. The 40-year-old’s maid screamed after spotting the crocodile, and that’s when Whittall, a director at Humani, came to know about the unexpected guest.
“The disconcerting thing about the whole episode is the fact that I was sitting on the edge of the bed that morning, bare feet and just centimetres away from the croc,” he told dailystar.co.uk.
Whittall was forced to call in some of his co-workers who helped remove the crocodile from its new lair and release it into Humani’s Chigwidi dam. “The most important thing is to get its snout roped and secured and then it’s just a matter of restraining it and covering its eyes, to calm it down,” said Whittall.
