The apex court has already stayed the HC proceedings in which the accused have sought quashing of the cases against them.
The complainant had in April this year lodged a complaint with the Harbour police station in Kochi alleging she was molested by her husband’s senior officers in his presence.
As per her allegations, her husband had told her to indulge in “wife-swapping” or he would lose his job. The woman, who left her job to get married to a naval officer, was later accused of being mentally unstable.
The naval officer’s wife said before the SC that local police wasn’t investigating the case freely and fairly.
Her counsel Kamini Jaiswal said: “The local police is under pressure to treat the matter as a matrimonial dispute and are watering down the grave allegations.”
She submitted that she had written a letter to chief of naval staff on March 5 but no action was taken.
