Those coming to attend the rally are expected to stand in long queues to enter the venue since police will frisk everybody. Apart from the massive security apparatus, 50 cameras have been installed at the venue and a control room has been set up for surveillance.
“It is a sensitive event and since there will be huge crowd we need to check every one. We will deploy additional personnel at the gates for quick frisking and baggage scanners will be installed,” said a senior police officer, requesting anonymity.
To avoid a stampede, organisers have been asked to display exit signs at every 100 metres. The Delhi Police will conduct a security drill on the eve of the rally and after that the ground will be closed for everyone. “Those moving in and around the venue will be checked,” the official added.
The police will videograph the event and intelligence personnel will be stationed at the venue to keep a check on suspicious persons.
