Hundreds of BJP workers are working round-the-clock to make Narendra Modi’s first rally in Delhi successful. With only one day left for the event, workers are busy giving finishing touches to the stage from where Modi will address the rally on Sunday morning. A vanity van will be parked right behind the stage for senior BJP leaders to rest. An event management company has made a makeshift office behind the stage to control activities on the ground. To facilitate the leaders, VIPs and media personnel, the BJP has formed a team of over 20 youths who have been asked to dress in formals.

“On Saturday too, they have been asked to come at 10 am. They will all be given passes and will be responsible for facilitating various groups of people such as journalists, managing VVIP parking, stage management and leaders from other states. They will be supported by junior workers,” said a senior BJP leader.

The facilitation teams have maps of the massive ground to guide the people. The BJP has given different names to the 10 entry points to make navigation smooth. http://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/Popup/2013/9/28_09_13-pg6b.jpg

These entry points are named Vikas Dwar, Samridhi Dwar, Sushasan Dwar, Yuva Shakti Dwar, Mahila Shakti Dwar, Antyodya Dwar, Sankalpa Dwar, Vridha Samman Dwar, Samskar Dwar and Sewa Dwar. “Everybody is invited to attend the rally. There is no need for invitation cards. People are allowed to carry their mobiles,” said Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel.

Among rumours of mosquito breeding at the venue, BJP claimed sanitation was their top priority. “Our cadres are doing a fantastic job in maintaining sanitation and hygiene there,” Goel said.

The party also plans to post workers at the two nearest metro stations to guide visitors towards the rally.

In their last-minute efforts to attract Muslims to attend the rally, the party workers tried to conduct a public meeting at Turkman Gate with local Muslim leaders but the police denied them permission.

Delhi BJP has also requested the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to increase the frequency of trains on Sunday. They have also sought permission from the DMRC to use feeder buses to ferry people to the venue of the rally from the Rohini West Metro station. It has also asked the DMRC to make an arrangement wherein a particular number of people can enter the platform in one go without using tokens.
