Khanna referred to Omar's statement that "his state only acceded and never merged with India" and that sustained dialogue with Pakistan and separatists over the Kashmir issue is needed.
The BJP leader has said as per various provisions of the Constitution, it is clear that Jammu & Kashmir was, is and will be an integral part of India and by making such statements the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir has shown disrespect to the Constitution.
"The CM has taken the oath as per the Constitution and cannot make such statements. If he makes such statements, it means that he has no faith in the Constitution under which whole of the country is functioning and has faith in it," Khanna said.
He added that Omar Abdullah has lost his right to continue as the chief minister of J&K, which is a constitutional post to be held by a person who has faith in the Constitution.
He urged the President, Prime Minister and union home minister to get the matter inquired and ask Omar Abdullah to immediately resign from the post of CM of J&K.
