Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) member Raman Bahl led a dharna by party activists against the alleged anti-people policies of the SAD-BJP government at the Hanuman Chowk here on Friday.
Bahl launched an attack on the Badal government for imposing wealth and house tax on the plots and houses that came up in the newly carved out colonies and for delaying the refunding of advanced taxes worth `500 crore collected from the traders of the state.

He asked the BJP leaders to hear the voice of their conscience and snap their ties with the SAD. Bahl alleged that the ruling alliance had spread unabated political terrorism in the state.

He said there was noone to listen to the complaints of the opposition leaders and workers. He added that the government had collected crores of rupees from the colonisers in the name of regularisation of their 'so called' unauthorised colonies.

"The state government is least interested in providing basic amenities to people,"he said. Bahl said he would not let the ruling SAD-BJP government harass the people of his constituency.
