The participants also condemned the alleged police atrocities against the community members who were protesting in Delhi and Chandigarh where they were cane charged a couple of months ago. “We have decided to form a seven-member committee which will look into the matter and take up the issues with relevant authorities,” he added.
The Mahasabha also thanked the Haryana government for providing 10% reservation to the economically backward Rajputs, among others, and urged that other governments should also follow suit. He further said, “Elections are near and we have decided that the community would support the political party which will talk about welfare of the Rajputs.”
The meeting was presided over by former union minister Digvijay Singh. The Mahasabha exhorted the community members to actively participate in elections of panchayats, civic bodies and other forums to strengthen the community.
