On Friday, Siddiqui sold his wife’s silver chain for `500 to procure medicines for his sick daughter. “We lost everything to the riots and have been living in relief camps under awful conditions for more than 50 days. But instead of helping us, they are linking us with the ISI.”
Over 50,000 people migrated from the riot-affected villages of district Muzaffarnagar in September and were kept in various relief camps. Assured by authorities, many returned to their villages, but over 8,000 people are still putting up in relief camps.
