Shivanand Tiwary, who has not been on good terms with Kumar for some time, said, "The JD(U) severed its ties with the BJP because of national politics. The BJP elevated Narendra Modi, who comes from a humble background and became the BJP’s PM candidate after a lot of struggle and I admire him for that, though he has fascist tendencies.
We will certainly fight him but the party should be aware of his strengths," he said to the discomfiture of Kumar and party workers who heckled him vociferously.
Referring to his neglect in the party, Tiwary said, "It was I who published a booklet on how people were conspiring against you (Nitish). The demand for a special package for Bihar was my idea. I have always been with the socialist stream. Where do I go now?"
