Security has been deployed in and around the place where the ‘purohit’ of Raja of Manda claimed to have found Devi ka Pind and some other gold articles, following a dream.
On Tuesday, SP Trans Yamuna Lallan Rai and SDM, Manda Vipin Kumar Misra reached the place to investigate the claim
but purohit Shiv Kumar Upadhyay asked them to stay away from the articles saying anybody who touches them, other than him, would face the devi’s curse.
After listening to the purohit, the officials restrained themselves from touching the articles or having a close look.
According to the purohit, a temple of ‘Sheetla Mata’ who had come in his dream during navratra would be constructed at the place from where the gold articles had been dug out by him.
SP Lallan Rai said further investigation would take place only after instructions from senior officials.
He said it was difficult to say whether the articles were of brass or gold.
According to the SP, the archeological department has no role in this matter because they step in only when something of value is found at a depth of three feet or more.
In this case, the purohit had dug up just one foot to take out what he claims invaluable articles made of gold and buried underground.
It may be mentioned that the news about finding of devi’s pind and some other gold articles, along with a coconut, spread like wildfire in and around Manda on Sunday morning.
Police came in as people in large numbers queued up to have a ‘darshan’ of the claim made by the Raja’s purohit.
The purohit who looks after a Hanuman temple constructed in 1752 on the premises of Manda Palace claimed to have seen the gold articles in dream during the recent navratra.
As a result, he first started a havan at the place that is at a little distance away from the Hanuman temple and later started digging on his own, late Sunday night.
